The Mission of Vancouver Island Outdoor Recreation Coalition (VIORC):

Develop and use a collaborative multi-user approach across the various member's recreation disciplines to:

• increase outdoor recreational trail networks and inventories on Vancouver Island for all outdoor recreation disciplines.
• negotiate land access for its members on private and Crown lands. This could include trail-building permissions, trail registries, land use tenures, and recreational facility registration.
• guide recreational facility policy development by Province of British Columbia
• guide recreational land use policy by both private and Provincial land administrators
• educate public to environmentally sound recreational activity practices
• research and develop best practice guidelines for outdoor recreation activities on Vancouver Island
• provide a portal for public to source information about where to enjoy their chosen recreation pursuits on Vancouver Island
• educate the public to the benefits of members' various recreational activities on Vancouver Island
