Welcome to the Juan de Fuca Enduro Riders

We are loose band of XC enthusiasts, working with the Victoria Motorcycle Club to actively develop XC riding areas and enduro meets along the west shore of Vancouver Island.

Juan De Fuca Enduro Riders Enduro (Click for more information)

With the Motorcycle Council of Canada announcing the development of a true National series for enduros, we have minimal enduros in BC that give riders experience in FIM or newer American-style enduros. The aim of this series is to develop a format that clubs or just interested riders can "host" an event with minimal volunteer time, impact on the land, and the social/political impact of a "horde of riders" descending on a trail system on one sunday. The goal is to spread the riding out over months, in small groups.

The rules are based on Brand X or New England Trail Riders Association rules (a more detailed version of Victoria Motorcycle Club rules for a cross-country enduro), but with self-administered start and virtual checks. Scores will be posted here. The rider can ride the Enduro as many times as they like to best someone else's score.

Riding Areas

From Sooke west, there are four primary areas, Tugwell/Anderson Road, Boyds Pit, Forby East Main, and Tansky Main. The area is laced with old and presently active logging roads for dual-sport rides. Until you reach Jordan River, all land is private. Boyds Pit is on Timber West land, and they have officially closed their lands to all recreational activities (see TimberWestLandAccess? ).
Anderson Rd. (see AndersonTrapMtnRiding for more information)
This area is on private land owned by Wester Forest Products and TimberWest, and is "officially" closed to all recreation.

Boyds Pit (see Boyds Pit riding for more information)
This area is on private land owned by TimberWest, and is "officially" closed to all recreation. The Victoria Motorcycle Club was told that they were non-gratis July 2006, after many years of maintaining these trails for XC.

One of VIORC's mandates is to get recreational access to this great area reopened. (see Timber West land access)

Forby East Main (see ForbyEastMainRiding for more information)
This area is off Forby Rd, the last main road before the hill down into Jordan River. It is an area of Crown land under the power lines heading east.

Tansky Main (see Tansky Riding Area for more information)
Currently, we are developing a riding area west of Jordan River on public land for XC. Tansky Riding Area covers an area of 5000 acres, following old skid roads, with inter-connecting single track. There is presently over 30km of track to ride on, with more installed every week.

Camping

French Beach
Jordan River Rec Site
There is a public campground right at the outlet of Jordan River, in Jordan River. It provides beautiful views across the Jaun de Fuca Strait to the Olympia Mountains. Being small, and desireably situated, it fills up fast on the weekends.
Mystic Beach Campsite
This a tent only site, part of the Juan de Fuca Provincial Park.
